A robust platinum carbonyl cluster anion [Pt(sub 3)(CO)(sub 6)](sub 5)(super 2-) encapsulated in an ordered mesoporous channel of FSM-16: FTIR/EXAFS/TEM characterization and catalytic performance in the hydrogenation of ethene and 1,3-butadiene
Article Abstract:
The mesoporous channel of FSM-16 was used as a host to study the intrazeolitic synthesis of larger platinum carbonyl clusters such as [Pt(sub 3)(CO)(sub 6)](sub 5)(super 2-). FTIR, EXAFS and TEM measurements were performed to characterize the Pt carbonyl cluster anions formed in FSM-16. Results showed that samples exhibiting catalytic activities for hydrogenation of ethene and 1,3-butadiene at 300 K are produced when CO is removed from [Pt(sub 3)(CO)(sub 6-x)](sub 5)(super 2-) in FSM-16 by thermal evacuation at 300-423 K.

Catalytic performances and stability of three Sb-Mo-O phases in the selective oxidation of isobutene to methacrolein
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the possible role of binary oxides associating Sb and Mo in the synergetic effects between physically mixed MoO3 and alpha-Sb2O4 in the selective oxidation of isobutene to methacrolein. The selectivities to methacrolein of the phases containing Sb, Mo and O were investigated. Results demonstrate that the Sb-Mo-O phases cannot be the real most performant phases in the mixtures of MOO3 with alpha-Sb2O4 and cannot be at the origin of the synergism between the simple oxides.
